Cognitive Development
Promoting Imitation & Symbolic Play
WiseTip: CD-PLY-M0818-G01A

While carrying out daily routines (e.g. bath-time, washing hands, before naps), sing with your baby and provide opportunities for creative expression, e.g. through singing, moving arms and legs and moving body to music.

WHY IT MATTERS

Repeating songs helps children with imitation skills as they learn to imitate words they hear often. Music can also encourage children to carry out symbolic play as they imagine scenarios associated with the music.
